Flamenco in Seville

Seville will be enjoying non-stop flamenco parties at all hours of the day and night next month when La Feria de Abril, the April Fair, gets underway.
Between 25th and 30th April each year Andalusian culture pours into Seville, turning the city into a festival of Spainish dancing, bullfighting and culinary traditions.
At the heart of the fair is the Real de la Feria, a canvas city of over 1000 marquees in which flamenco dancers and party-goers live side by side.
Featured attractions include El Alumbrado, the Fair's opening in which half a million lanterns are simultaneously lit and the Paseo de Caballos, a procession of horsemen and carriages and a series of evening bullfights at the Plaza de Toros.
Seville's April Fair was formed in 1846 by two businessmen who hoped to improve the region's agricultural markets.
Although trade does still occur at the fair, locals soon gave it a flavour of their own, making it one of the most important folkloric celebrations in Spain.
