Hip hop heritage in New York

22 May 2006

This June sees the fourth anniversary of New York's most original sightseeing tour.

Walk This Way The Hip Hop Walking Tour takes visitors away from the big sights of the Big Apple to show the best of what the borough of Harlem has to offer and tells the story of the birth of hip hop.

The tours gain an extra level of authenticity as the guides have all been a part of the hip hop scene in New York and have worked with names such as Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5.

Tours also include a visit to the Harlem Hip Hop Church, where DJs and rappers perform alongside gospel choirs.

To celebrate the fourth anniversary, Hush Tours is launching the Brooklyn/Queens Experience, which will open up further parts of New York and their hidden musical history.

Walking tours start every Thursday and Sunday at 1pm and a coach tour taking in landmarks in Manhattan, Harlem and the Bronx starts at 11am each Saturday.
