Party in paradise
16 Jun 2006
Just off the Bahamas, the small islands that make up Turks and Caicos manage to attract some of the biggest stars of rap, R&B, reggae and gospel to the annual music festival.
Turks and Caicos Music and Cultural Festival runs from 31 July to 7 August and is billed as a party in paradise.
The list of stars already on the bill include the rapper Ludacris, American Idol winner Fantasia, the Grammy-winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams and the UK's Steel Pulse, also winners of a Grammy.
Local bands will be playing alongside the big names and the Miss Turks & Caicos beauty contest also forms part of the festival.
The culmination of the event is a massive beach party, where the music and dancing will continue well into the night.
Lindsey Musgrove, of the Turks & Caicos Tourism Board, said: 'The Music and Cultural Festival is the perfect opportunity to indulge in an unforgettable vacation at one of our renowned oceanfront resorts while dancing the days and nights away to the sounds of Hollywood superstars on our powdery white sand beaches.'
