Monarch expands for 2007

27 Jun 2006

Monarch has started to announce its plans for summer 2007.

From Birmingham, it will start flying to Ibiza and services to Alicante, Palma and Murcia will double.

The airline will also launch flights from Jerez to Manchester from March 2007 providing the first service outside London to the Spanish city.

The new services have been made possible with Monarch's new aircraft.

Managing director of Monarch's scheduled services Tim Jeans said: 'The introduction of the new services to both Ibiza and Jerez are great news for passengers travelling from Birmingham and Manchester.

'The addition of a further Airbus A321 aircraft in Birmingham also allows us to increase the number of flights operated from the airport to 120 per week and enables us to provide our Midlands passengers with increased frequencies to match their demand.'

The expansion at Birmingham will see over half a million passengers flying from the UK's second city, 15 months after Monarch first started flying from there.
