Best airports in Europe named

Frankfurt, Copenhagen and Toulouse Blagnac airports have been named among the best in Europe.

The Airports Council International Awards named the best airports according to size.

Frankfurt took the prize for the best airport with over 25m customers.

The judges noted the efficiency of the airport and its involvement with the local community and the environmental initiatives.

In the 10m -25m category, Copenhagen came out on top, being commended for its excellent customer services.

The best airports in the 5m to 10m and 1m to 5m categories were Toulouse Blagnac and Shannon International, both being highlighted for improvements that had been made with new facilities.

The judges unanimously chose Pristine as the winner in the under 1m category 'on the basis of overcoming adversity to prepare a gateway for the economic redevelopment of the state of Kosovo'.
