Flybe brings in self-service at Manchester
24 Jul 2006
Flybe is to be the first airline to introduce self-service kiosks at Manchester Airport.
The kiosks will allow passengers to check themselves into flights and print off their own boarding passes before dropping off luggage at bag drop.
The airline is also planning to extend the service to other airports around the UK in the next 18 months.
Mike Rutter, Flybe chief commercial officer, said: 'We feel the latest development to the Flybe service will be a welcomed addition to our customer offering, eliminating the unnecessary time spent queuing and waiting around and easing the travel experience for time-conscious travellers.'
Along with Manchester, self-service has been introduced in Humberside and Nottingham East Midlands as a part of a £1.5m investment by Manchester Airports Group, which owns all three airports.
Newcastle Airport has also recently brought in the self-service kiosks.
