1 Sep 2006
Passengers knocking the seat in front has been named as the biggest annoyance during a flight.
A poll by Monarch Airlines asked passengers the three things that most annoy them about flying. The results showed other passengers were the biggest source of irritation.
Some 78% of passengers were annoyed by somebody knocking their seat from behind and 69% were irritated by the person in front reclining.
The possibility of using a mobile phone on board was not welcomed, as 67% of passengers stated being forced to hear others' conversations and be subjected to their phones beeping away would cause annoyance.
Smelly passengers peeved 53% of those flying.
While phones bothered two thirds of passengers, only 3% were annoyed by other's music and games.
Only 1% of those flying were wound up by overly amorous travelling companions or overly chatty fellow passengers.
