Peter Kay top holiday companion
27 Sep 2006
Bolton funnyman Peter Kay has been named as the nation's dream holiday companion.
It seems Brits prefer having a good time on holiday over any Hollywood glamour as the Phoenix Nights star beat off Keira Knightley and George Clooney, who ended up second and third respectively.
Mark Till, marketing director for Barclays, which commissioned the survey, said: "It seems that Brits are more interested in having fun and sharing a laugh with the likes of Peter Kay and Dermot O'Leary than opting for the glamour of film stars or supermodels."
Kay got equal amounts of votes from both men and women as someone to head on holiday with.
The only men to make the top among male holiday makes were Sean Connery, Dermot O'Leary and Jonathan Ross. Female celebrities such as Knightley, Kylie Minogue and Angelina Jolie dominated men's dream holiday companions.
The most ideal male to share a holiday with for women was George Clooney, followed by Kay and Robbie Williams.
Of Scottish holidaymakers, Sean Connery was named dream companion.
