Goa wants jetty investment

The government of Goa is attempting to attract investment from the private sector in order to increase tourism.
The Indian state wants to see more money put into infrastructure such as marinas and jetties so that cruise, yachting and backwater tourism can be tapped into, reports the Hindu.
Authorities in the region have already announced that the building of more jetties has been given the go ahead and they are confident that these will benefit the state.
'These jetties would largely help yachts and sailboats that travel along the Goan coast and would like to anchor for a while before moving on,' said chief minister Pratapsingh Rane.
Mr Rane announced that the four new jetties would be built while officially opening another steel jetty which was built especially for the International Film Festival of India near the Kala Academy complex.
Goa has long been a popular tourist destination for millions of people and is widely regarded as one of the most relaxed and laid back Indian states.
