Passengers at London City Airport will be able to use their mobile phones for quick access to news, thanks to new Hypertag technology being utilised by CNN.
London City Airport will join the Barcelona 3GSM fair in sporting Bluetooth devices developed by proximity marketing firm Hypertag.
The installation of the technology at the airports will make it possible for news to be beamed to mobile phones.
The Bluetooth and infrared devices will be installed in poster panels at London City Airport in a campaign to promote CNN's mobile news service.
Passengers at the airport will be able to access CNN's mobile news website by sending an SMS from their phone.
Mark Haviland, director of marketing for CNN International, said: 'We are pleased to be able to market our new mobile service in an innovative and user-friendly way.
He added: 'CNN Mobile delivers a great news product for users on the go and this is a quick and simple way for people to access it.'
At Barcelona 3GSM, the tags will be attached to marketing staff present at the fair.
