Malta's new historical tour

Holidaymakers visiting Malta will soon be able to take part in a new tour of the country's palaces and historic houses.
Malta's ministry of tourism and culture is organising the tour, which will begin in earnest on 25 February, reports the Times of Malta.
The Mediterranean island is home to many fascinating and ancient buildings, with a host of grand palaces available to be visited.
Tours will begin at Palazzo Parisio, in Naxxar, where visitors will be treated to a re-enactment of times gone by.
Casa Rocca Piccola, in Malta's capital city Valletta, is next on the agenda, with the tour being picked up by the property's current residents.
Marquis and Marchioness de Piro currently live in the building and will guide people around individual rooms, explaining the history and decor.
Also included in the tour are the Toy Museum in Valletta and the Domis Pauli Museum, which displays items from St Paul's shipwrecked church.
Malta is home to many ancient buildings, with the Neolithic temple of Hagar Quim believed to be the oldest known building in the world, predating the Pyramids of Giza by up to 1,000 years.
