Manchester airport picks up some changes

1 Mar 2007

Changes have been made to the way passengers are picked up at Manchester airport's Terminal Two.

Drivers will now have to use short-stay parking bays, with airport officials saying that this will help to keep traffic flowing.

The changes will bring Terminal Two in line with the other terminals at Manchester but drivers will now be charged for picking people up.

The price has been reduced however, with a 30-minute wait costing £1.80 as opposed to the previous £2.30.

'The changes to Terminal One and Three have proved to be extremely successful and have seen the number of unnecessary journeys dramatically reduced,' said Andy Cliffe, director of car parks at Manchester airport.

'This latest change to the pick-up procedures at Terminal Two is the final step in the plan to standardise pick-up across the airport and continue to deliver the very best quality of service to our 22m passengers a year.'

Passengers being dropped off will not experience any changes.
