Switzerland has topped the World Economic Forum's ranking in tourism.
The country beat of stiff competition from other top destinations and was commended for its attractive environment.
Switzerland was closely followed by Austria and Germany in the rankings, which were included in the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2007.
The report cited the world-class transport infrastructure in Switzerland and the country's focus on nurturing human and natural resources as reasons for its high ranking.
Hong Kong and Singapore were also named as top tourism destinations, making up the top five.
Switzerland has long been a hugely popular holiday destination and continues to attract millions of visitors every year.
Many people visit the country to enjoy a ski holiday as it is home to some of the world's most breathtaking mountains.
