Amsterdam's Schipol airport has been awarded the dubious honour of being named the best airport to get stuck in.
A poll of American travel agents named the Dutch hub ahead of a number of other airports and it was praised for keeping passengers entertained and comfortable during delays and cancellations.
The travel agents highlighted Schipol's wedding chapel, casino and 'snooze' chairs.
Second place in the poll went to the UK's Heathrow airport, which was described as a 'shopper's dream', while Frankfurt in Germany took third place.
'It used to be that passengers who found themselves with a little bit extra time at the airport could only hope the book they brought would last through their delay,' said president of the American Society of Travel Agents, Cheryl Hudak.
'Nowadays, some airports are offering as many diversions and activities as a trip to the mall or local museum.'
The rest of the top five best airports in which to get stuck is made up by Changi in Singapore and Charles de Gaulle in Paris.
