Australia's best kept secrets have been revealed in a list compiled by Australian Traveller magazine.
The list, entitled 100 Great Things To Do In Australia You've Never Heard Of, includes a host of fantastic tourist destinations that rarely attract tourists.
Australia's best kept secret was named as Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory and beat off competition from over 800 other sites.
Fondly known as Kakadu's little brother by locals, the park is home to a number of stunning waterfalls in the wet season and has a host of interesting a bizarre features.
It was made a national park in 1986 and is home to termite mounds and a peculiar Lost City which is made up of sandstone block and pillar formations that have been formed by wind and rain.
Despite not being hugely well known, Litchfield Park does attract around 220,000 visitors each year and those who know it love it.
'It gives a rugged view of the Top End with the escarpment rocks and big waterfalls,' Lyndall Mcsween told News Limited.
'Visitors to Litchfield are never disappointed. But I think the whole of the Northern Territory is a pretty big secret.'
