A new service which is being launched at UK airports could revolutionise the way travellers check-in for flights.
Personal Porter is an online service that is designed to reduce airport queuing times by bypassing traditional check-in procedures.
Luggage is picked up from the passenger's home and is delivered to their final destination ahead of them.
This means that travellers need not worry about taking their luggage to the airport and having it weighed and can keep up to date with their bags' progress.
Using real-time tracking via SMS, passengers will be kept completely up to date with the journey their luggage is on, meaning they can sit back and relax.
'Airlines all over the world have identified luggage handling as a major issue and are wrestling with ways to address this,' said Nick Blackledge, managing director of Personal Porter.
'It costs the industry millions of pounds each year and we are witnessing the beginnings of how airlines will manage their luggage in the future.'
