More luxury accommodation for India's IT capital

Businesspeople seeking luxury accommodation can expect find their needs better met in India's Bangalore as the city prepares to offer 3,000 more luxury hotel rooms and service apartments, real estate experts Knight Frank told India's Business Standard paper.
Over the next five years, the availability of luxury accommodation will almost double from just 2,500 'premium' rooms and 300 service apartments at present.
As business traffic to Bangalore grows and demand intensifies, the price of a hotel room in India's premier business destination soared by almost a fifth last year.
More than half the business travellers to India each year go to Bangalore and the keenly anticipated opening of a new international airport has attracted major global hotel chains such as Radisson, Hilton and JW Marriott.
As the capital of the southern state of Karnataka, Bangalore also boasts an array of spectacular Hindu temples and Mughal and colonial-era princely palaces.
Although almost 90 per cent of hotel rooms in the city are rented to business visitors, Bangalore is also a popular 'health tourism' destination for visitors seeking orthopaedic, cosmetic or even surgical treatments.
