Eurovision comes to Finland

11 May 2007

Millions of people across Europe will be watching on TV and thousands will be watching live as the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest final gets underway on 12 May.

Helsinki in Finland will be awash with music enthusiasts and fans of the prestigious event as singers and bands battle it out for the ultimate prize.

The Hartwall Arena in the Finnish capital will host the musical event and thousands of people are expected to descend on Helsinki for it.

Even those who do not have tickets to see the show will be lapping up the incredible atmosphere that follows Eurovision where ever it goes.

Bars and clubs across Finland will be packed with fans and you can bet that each will take on a Eurovision theme for the night.

The recent semi final qualifiers were held in the Hartwell Arena, with fans again turning out in strength to see the acts.

Verka Serduchka of Ukraine and Roger Cicero are the bookies favourites to win the competition this year, although Eurovision has thrown up a number of surprises in the past.
