Malta to host Isle of MTV music festival

The Mediterranean island of Malta is to host a major music festival in conjunction with MTV.
Around 20,000 revellers are expected to descend on Floriana, just outside the island's capital city Valletta, for the Isle of MTV festival, which is one of Europe's biggest musical events.
Star performers such as Enrique Iglesias, Maroon 5 and Akon are due to take to the stage, alongside Malta's very own golden girl of pop Ira Losco.
Festivalgoers will be treated to an open-air concert set against the beautiful backdrop of Floriana's Fosos Square and organisers are confident that the event will be a huge success.
'We're thrilled to be able to present Isle of MTV as part of into Europe's summer music calendar,' said Richard Godfrey from MTV Networks International.
'MTV is uniquely positioned to offer MTV audiences exclusive access to the world's biggest artists and the impressive raft of A-list artists who will take to the stage in Valletta is no exception.
'We are looking forward to working with our Maltese partners to showcase the charming capital city,' he added.
Isle of MTV will take place on 26 July and will be free to attend.
