American pop diva Christina Aguilera performed in China for the first time last night, wowing thousands in the city of Shanghai as she tours Asia on her 'Back to Basics' world tour.
The four-time Grammy winner attracted a sell-out crowd of 8,400 as she performed some of her most popular hits on the Shanghai Grand Stage.
'I've never been to China before, so it's very exciting for me to be her,' she claimed enthusiastically at a photo shoot on Tuesday.
The new show trades up her character raunchiness for jazz and blues influences from acts such as Billie Holiday and Nina Simone.
Christina Aguilera has already performed in the United States, Europe, Japan and South Korea and will now travel to Bangkok, Thailand, for the next leg of the tour.
Shanghai, which is situated on the banks of the Yangtze River in east China, has recently played host to performances by Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters and the Rolling Stones.
