Irish airline Aer Arann, one of the fastest growing regional airlines, is launching a new route this week, from the English city of Newcastle to Galway on the West coast of Ireland.
The airline is offering free flights to the first passengers to check-in as part of its opening celebrations at Newcastle airport and will provide dancers from the Healy School of Irish Dancing in Newcastle at the event.
Galway is the largest county in the province of Connaught and is the focus of Ireland's western seaboard. The area features a mixture of beautiful countryside and vibrant city life, offering excellent golfing and fishing facilities and attraction such as Thoor Ballylee tower and Dunguaire Castle.
Aer Arann will provide flights between the two destinations on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, targeting those looking for a weekend break.
'We are excited to be linking Newcastle to Galway, a truly captivating country and a well-preserved area in Ireland,' said Colin Lewis, head of sales at Aer Arann.
'We are committed to ensuring our Newcastle customers can travel in comfort to Galway, the gateway to the west of Ireland, we believe it will prove to be a popular destination with visitors from Newcastle.'
