Planning 'stresses most holidaymakers'
31 Jul 2007
More than eight in ten holidaymakers find that planning a holiday becomes extremely stressful, a survey from British bank NatWest has revealed.
While four in ten find themselves unable to relax because of worries regarding the amount of cash they will be spending, a third get stressed by airline's weight limits, while15 per cent even fret about where to go.
While the point of a holiday is to de-stress and relax, the survey revealed that the woes of anxiety continue for many even once their vacation has started. More than a third complained that their holiday had been ruined by sub-par accommodation, while 22 percent said they were provided with inedible food.
'Family holidays should be a fun and relaxing time of year but sadly this isn't always the case,' explained Mike Freer, head of business development at NatWest International.
'The hassle and expense of arranging holidays can be hugely stressful from deciding where to go, budgeting, avoiding the crowds, to making arrangements for your pets and packing within weight restrictions.'
He explained that many people were looking to purchase a second home abroad in order to reduce the stress associated with planning a holiday.
