Busiest week ever for Aer Arann

6 Aug 2007

Last week, nearly 30,000 passengers took to the skies with Aer Arann, in what was the busiest ever week for the Irish regional airline since it began operating commercial flights in 1998.

While 30% of the passenger traffic came from flights travelling to and from Dublin Airport, there was also a strong increase in passengers travelling through the regions of Cork (25%), Galway (20%) and Waterford (10%).

Colin Lewis, head of sales and marketing at Aer Arann, commented: 'We are delighted that Aer Arann passenger figures reach an all time high this week. We've exceeded all our expectations this year and the company is going from strength to strength.

'This news is a great follow up to last month's announcement that Aer Arann are now the third largest operator at Dublin Airport.'

In total, more than 1m customers have travelled with Aer Arann to its 28 different destinations across Ireland, France and the UK.

The airline operates primarily out of Dublin Airport, with hubs at other airports including Cork International, Galway and Cardiff International.
