Tourism businesses in Cumbria to spend '£12 million'

24 Aug 2007

Tourism businesses in Cumbria are set to spend big this summer, as they look to refurbish their properties ahead of the autumn, a new report claims.

To further this end, the Lakes Hospitality Interiors Show will get under way at a time of year when retailers are looking to keep up to date with all the latest trends in interiors - with £12 million forecasted to be spent on stylish updates.

Organisers of the event have decided to bring the show to the Lakes at this time of the year as part of their continuing efforts to make the area one of the most stylish in the country.

'We are delighted to be supporting this event because continuous improvement to the tourism offer is essential if Cumbria is to maintain its position as one of the best destinations in the world,' Richard Greenwood, director of development at Cumbria Tourism, commented.

The Lakes Hospitality Interiors Show will take place on October 16th and 17th at the Windermere Hydro Hotel.
