Seats on the first commercial flight of the new Airbus A380 superjumbo, the largest passenger plane ever built, are being auctioned by Singapore Airlines on global online market eBay.
Bids are already running into the thousands of pounds, despite the fact that the auctions will remain open until 10 September.
The maiden flight will take place on 25 October, travelling from Singapore to Sydney. All of the money raised from the sale of the seats will go to a number of charitable causes.
One third of the proceeds will be donated to Singapore's Community Chest, while one third will be split between Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick and The Children's Hospital at Westmead, both in Sydney, Australia.
The remaining profits will be given to Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) an international humanitarian-aid charity established by a group of French doctors in the 1970s that sends doctors to war-torn regions and developing countries.
