30 Aug 2007

For the many Singapore Airlines passengers who journeys involve connection flights, it will come as good news that the airline has been ranked by the International Air Transport Association as first outside of the US and third overall for its interline electronic-ticketing implementation.

To make multiple flight journeys as simple as possible for passengers flying with any of the airline's 84 e-ticketing partners, they need only use one electronic-ticket for the whole flight.

Furthermore, Singapore's national airline said that the airline is hoping to enter interline e-ticketing partnerships with all 155 interline partners by the end of 2007.

Huang Cheng Eng, chief executive of the flag carrier, said: 'Singapore Airlines is a front-runner in adopting technology in our business model, and we have embraced e-ticketing as a means to simplify air travel for our customers.

'With more than 95% of our interline traffic enabled on the e-ticketing platform, customers can now enjoy the convenience of using just one interline e-ticket to connect from our flights to our partner carriers.'
