Bristol airport gets award nomination

Bristol airport has been nominated for a 2008 Globe Travel Award, according to reports.
The hub has been shortlisted in the best regional UK airport category of the awards, the Western Daily Press reports.
A ceremony will be held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on 15 January, where members of the travel industry will announce the winners.
Bristol airport has enjoyed rising passenger numbers in recent months and this year is expected to handle some 6m customers.
In July the hub saw over 612,000 passengers move through its base along with 7,213 aircraft movements.
The airport's managers recently moved to boost its autumn activity by launching a number of offers to destinations in Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Crete and others.
