Canada looks to present new image

2 Oct 2007

The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has announced its intentions to present itself in a new light at this year's World Travel Market (WTM).

A revamped stand will be presented at the event, which runs in London from 12 to 15 November, representing the CTC's new brand identity with 'colours and vibrancy'.

Quebec City Tourism and Tourism Quebec are among the exhibitors who will be in attendance at the Canada stand in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec City.

Maggie Davison, UK managing director of the CTC, said: 'We are looking forward to WTM this year with our new corner position for the Canada stand (stand NA3000).

'Our 27 participants have so much to tell the world about Canada's innovative, diverse and authentic travel experiences.'

Last year more than 18m people travelled to Canada from all over the world, over 866,000 of whom came from the UK.

The first half of 2007 saw travel between Britain and Canada rise by 4.5% compared to the corresponding period of last year.
