Morocco continues to be a popular choice with holidaymakers as it offers something different to established tourist destinations such as the Costa del Sol, it has been claimed.
According to foreign property specialist Saffron Villas, major cities within Morocco are traditionally the most popular areas.
The port town of Agadir is also a popular destination for travellers, said Paul Staines, the managing director of the company.
'Marrakech is and always has been very, very popular,' he commented. 'Partly because the tourism that you get, particularly in Marrakech because it's a city, is very different from the coastal tourism that you get on the south coast of Spain.
'Pretty much all of Morocco is popular but all for different reasons.'
Morocco is situated on the north-western tip of the African continental plate and shares a border with Algeria.
