Gwyneth embarks on gastro-tour of Spain

9 Oct 2007

Film star Gwyneth Paltrow has embarked on a tour of Spain for a new US television show.

In the programme the actress will travel all over the country, sampling the foods associated with various regions and visiting attractions and landmarks.

A statement released by the show's producers said that it will be a 'showcase of Spain as it has never been seen before'.

Speaking to reporters at the Madrid launch of the show, Paltrow said that she was looking forward to travelling around Spain but was still in the dark about the exact details of the trip, BBC News reports.

'I don't know what we are going to do, but it is going to be fun,' she said.

The Oscar-winning star will tour the Iberian country with a food critic from the New York Times, a chef and Spanish actress Claudia Bassols.

Spain is best known for fish and rice dishes such as paella and for its love of various types of meat, particularly ham.
