Tourism Australia has announced plans to target Asia and make the most of the lucrative corporate meetings and incentives market.
Geoff Buckley, managing director of the organisation, said that a trade forum in Macau next year will be used as a platform to showcase the advantages of Australia as a business travel destination.
The Team Australia Business Events Education (Tabee) will be held from 3 to 5 March and follows a number of trade marketing events in Taiwan, Korea and Singapore this year.
Mr Buckley said: 'Tabee 2008 celebrates the tenth anniversary of Tourism Australia's largest trade activity for the business event sector in Asia, helping to generate millions of dollars in future business for Australia.
'This trade event puts Australian operators including venues, hotels, attractions, airlines and other suppliers right before buyers, agents and planners from the fast growing Asian markets.'
Last year international business travellers generated revenue of $1.7 billion (£753m) for Australia, with the typical visitor spending around $375 per day.
