The south of France will be accessible in five hours on Eurostar trains from next year, further boosting access to the popular region for British holidaymakers.
A spokesperson for a property company looked forward to the development and explained that one area that many people could head for is Languedoc on the south coast.
Ben Sanders of French-Property.com said that Languedoc enjoys a warm climate and offers access to the Mediterranean Sea.
'Languedoc is the up and coming area on the south coast,' he said.
'There is a new rail link schedule to be in place there by 2008. It'll be linked right up to Paris, so you can just hop on the Eurostar in the UK and be in the south of France in just five hours.'
There is also air access to the region, Mr Sanders explained, with regional airports located in the 'mini Pyrenees' and also towards the Alps.
