Etihad's Kathmandu flights proving popular

23 Oct 2007

Forthcoming Etihad Airways flights from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to Nepalese capital Kathmandu are proving popular, with more than 65% of economy seats booked for November.

The service, which will run four times a week, is set to launch at the end of this month.

Kathmandu will be Etihad's ninth new destination of 2007 and joins the airline's expanding network of destinations on the Indian subcontinent.

The operator also flies to Dhaka, Delhi, Mumbai, Karachi and Islamabad among others.

James Hogan, chief executive of the operator, said: 'Etihad continues to offer air travellers flights to the world's most exciting destinations.

'Our new Kathmandu service will provide a valuable link for business and leisure travellers, many of whom will fly from across the world connecting via our home base at Abu Dhabi airport.'

Some 90,000 Nepalese nationals currently live in the United Arab Emirates and across the Middle East.
