Gatwick to open new transit centre
25 Oct 2007
The centre will be located in Gatwick's arrivals hall, on the site of the airport's former smoking area, in the south terminal.
It will provide a number of services from operators including Southern Trains, Gatwick Express, National Express Coaches and Checker Cars.
The onward travel centre is part of an £850m investment package for Gatwick over the next decade and is hoped to lead to 40% of non-transfer passengers using public transport for surface journeys in ten years' time.
Jo Astor, the airport's retail director, said: 'The onward travel centre is one of our many projects designed to put our passengers first.
'The centre will enable our passengers to select their onward travel choice simply from the wide range on offer in one place.'
Travellers using Gatwick currently have access to around 950 train services provided by six rail companies.
