New luxury resort to launch in Dubai

11 Dec 2007

Plans have been unveiled for a new luxury resort in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Kuwait-based developer Al Osaimi group is behind the plans for the new complex, which will comprise accommodation, a spa, leisure facilities and residential areas.

The complex, valued at around 1bn dirhams (£134m), will be based on the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah structure on Dubai's coastline.

With construction on the project set to begin in early 2008, an opening date has been pencilled in for some time in 2010.

Abdul Rahman Al Osaimi, chairman of the group, said that the development could have a significant effect on Dubai's standing in world tourism and investment industries.

'As the developer of a project that is set to attract more regional and international visitors to the UAE, our strategy is to establish ties with the most respected firms in the industry to ensure that our luxury resort will not only provide a stronger boost to the tourism sector but also reinforce Dubai as the world's leading destination for travel and real property investments,' he said.
