Denmark targets campers

Tourism agency VisitDenmark has launched its first ever brochure tailored specifically for the UK camping market.
The 32-page brochure, which is available online or in print format, provides advice on choosing one of Denmark's 498 classified campsites, which can be found in a range of coastal, rural or sometimes urban locations.
Campsites in Denmark range in quality from basic caravan and tent pitches to luxury locations offering chalet accommodation, pools, sports facilities and restaurants.
As well as providing information related to campsites, the new VisitDenmark publication contains details on the country's various regions, from its coastal stretches and hinterlands to the main islands and cities.
A suggested touring itinerary is given for each region, with points of interest and attractions identified along the way.
All 498 campsites in Denmark have been rated with between one and five stars.
Seven sites have met the criteria to achieve a five-star ranking in 2008, including Klim Strand in North Jutland and TopCamp Bogense Strand on the island of Funen.
