Continental to launch seasonal transatlantic flight
21 May 2008
Continental Airlines will launch a seasonal service between Cleveland and Paris tomorrow (22 May).
The flight, between Cleveland Hopkins airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle, is expected to be popular with business travellers as well as people looking for onward connections throughout Europe, Asia and Africa.
Paris will be the second European city served by Continental from its Cleveland hub, after it launched flights to London Gatwick in 1999.
Running throughout the summer until 1 September, the new service will be operated by Boeing 757 aircraft offering 159 economy seats and 16 business class spaces.
Jeff Smisek, president of Continental Airlines, revealed that the carrier had launched flights from Cleveland to ten new destinations so far this year.
Frank G Jackson, mayor of Cleveland, said: 'Continental's new international service to Paris from Cleveland Hopkins will connect Cleveland to the global marketplace and open doors to new business opportunities and tourism.
'I commend Continental for their commitment to this service and look forward to partnering with them in the future.'
