A survey by
Air France showed that passengers support the use of mobile phones on flights, according to reports.
Research by the airline revealed that 80% of people are positive about the application of OnAir mobile phone technology which has been trialed on
Air France flights.
Patrick Roux, vice president of marketing for
Air France, said: 'We are taking every opportunity to offer our customers the latest cabin innovations, while continuing to make travel comfort and their well-being our main priority.'
Technology developed by OnAir allows passengers to send and receive text messages as well as emails with attachments on their mobile phones.
Benoit Debains, CEO of OnAir, said: 'Following the success of the trial so far, we are now adding the voice function.
Air France is the first carrier in the world to offer the full capability of the inflight mobile phone service, and is able to do so because of OnAir's SwiftBroadband solution.'
Air France and OnAir have been trialing in-flight mobile phone use since 17 December 2007.
