Bmi regional, a subsidiary of
bmi, has announced plans to add a third return flight on its route between Edinburgh and Copenhagen.
The new service, which will be available from 21 July, will increase the airline's link between the two cities to 18 return flights every week.
As well as directly connecting the Scottish and Danish capitals, the new flight will provide access to transfers provided by
bmi's Star Alliance partners, to destinations including Tokyo and Helsinki.
People travelling from locations such as Istanbul and Oslo will be able to connect to flights to Edinburgh through Copenhagen.
Bmi regional commercial director Peter Kenworthy said: 'By adding an extra service to our Edinburgh-Copenhagen route we are able to open up connections to many additional international destinations for our Scotland-based business and leisure customers.
'Together with our all-jet fleet, convenient flight schedules and low fares we have a market leading product.'
Bmi recently announced that it was trialling paperless boarding procedures on some its routes through London Heathrow.
