Waterfalls splash into New York's East River

The city of New York recently opened its newest tourist attractions – four giant waterfalls along the East River.
Visitors to the city will be able to see the outdoor installations, which are the work of Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, until 13 October.
They are situated on Governor's Island, under Brooklyn bridge and on two piers, where they are visible from both the Manhattan and Brooklyn sides of the East River.
The falls are based on 30-metre-tall metal structures that create flows of water between ten and 20 metres wide.
Mr Eliasson told AFP that the installations are 'about time and experiencing space'.
He added: 'Water has great potential to be both physical and very elusive, it can be many different things for many different people.'
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on 27 June, New York city mayor Michael Bloomberg said the falls were an 'unbelievable sight' and a symbol of the 'energy and vitality' of the city's waterfront.
