Israel to host Red Sea Jazz Festival
15 Jul 2008
A visit to Israel this summer will bring the added bonus of the opportunity to enjoy some music at the Red Sea Jazz Festival.
This event will be held in Eilat from 25 to 28 August and is set to attract more than 40,000 people to four open-air venues.
More than 30 concerts will be held over four days, spanning genres including New Orleans, Latin and contemporary jazz as well as plenty of varieties of world music.
In addition to the range of international artists that will be performing, there will be a number of top Israeli groups and youth jazz bands.
Among the acts on the line-up are Randy Brecker; Bill Evans and Soulbop; the Kurt Elling Trio; Carla Bley and the Lost Chords; Oregon and the Avishai Cohen Trio.
While the music is the main attraction, another factor of the Red Sea Jazz Festival that visitors will enjoy is its location, with a stunning backdrop of mountains and sea that few other events could offer.
