Chilean carrier
LAN Airlines will soon offer an extra option to people travelling through the Americas in the form of new flights between Santiago, Chile and Toronto, Canada.
The operator will provide five flights a week on the new route, which will operate via New York, from 3 September.
Travellers in both Toronto and New York will be able to access a number of connections to South American destinations as a result of the new service.
Pablo Yunis of LAN said the airline has had its sights on Canada 'for quite some time'.
He added: 'Toronto is a very important market for travel to South America, both for leisure and business travel, as well as for travellers who are returning to their homelands.
'Our goal is to connect South America with one of the most important cultural and financial centres in North America and showcase our signature service to Canadian travellers.'
The arrival of LAN will bring the total number of airlines at Toronto Pearson international airport to 77.
