Mexico 'a romantic, luxurious destination'

Mexico is increasingly being seen as a luxurious destination, one travel expert has said.
Alyson Cook, editor at Luxury Travel magazine, has explained that the country is proving popular with those looking to splash out on a trip and particularly couples.
'Increasingly, I think Mexico is seen as a romantic destination for the UK luxury market,' she said.
She added that Mexico City is home to a number of luxurious hotels which attract travellers who want to spoil themselves while on holiday.
'Mexico city has some hip hotels. Los Cabos and Baja California and on the central Pacific coast there's a property called Las Alamandas which the A-listers like.'
She added that Mexico was an ideal holiday hotspot because it offered more than just a week on the beach.
According to Ms Cook, the joy of Mexico was that 'its not just staying in a hotel, it's walks in the jungle, communing with the animals, going to climb the cultural pyramids – that's more adventurous'.
