Ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is currently enjoying a classic US road trip for his summer holiday this year.
Sir Paul is following the infamous Route 66 from his family holiday home in the Hamptons across America to California, the Telegraph reports.
New squeeze Nancy Shevell has come along for the ride in the 1989 Ford Bronco Sir Paul is said to be driving.
According to a source, it was Nancy's idea to take the trip along one of the most famous roads in the world.
"It's the perfect way for them to both get away from it all and really get to know each other. Paul even packed his guitar," the source told the paper.
Sir Paul may feel inspired to write a few songs on his journey across America, following songwriter Bobby Troup who penned (Get Your Kicks On) Route 66 in 1946, which was subsequently recorded by the likes of Nat King Cole and the Rolling Stones.
