People planning ski holidays for the forthcoming winter season have been offered a number of tips on how to keep their trips as cheap as possible.
The first thing holidaymakers should do, according to currency exchange company Caxton FX, is take care to avoid the peak season as this is the most expensive period.
Christmas, Easter and the February half-term will be the busiest times on the ski slopes and January, March and April the most likely times to find cheap deals.
Another way of keeping one's budget down, according to Caxton FX, is to reserve catered accommodation to avoid spending money in expensive restaurants and shops.
Something that all budget-conscious holidaymakers should be aware of is dynamic currency conversion, whereby transactions are processed in a visitor's home currency rather than the local currency, often using an unfavourable exchange rate.
