New check-in kiosks at Edinburgh airport

17 Sep 2008

People catching flights from Edinburgh airport with Air France, KLM and Flybe can now make use of ten new self-service kiosks that have been installed at the gateway.

The facilities, which are located to the left of the main entrance of the check-in hall, have been opened to increase check-in capacity in the terminal and offer passengers quicker passage through the airport.

Travellers will need to present their passport, credit card or transaction number to print out their boarding pass and can check in their luggage at the airport's bag-drop desks.

The kiosks are already open to Air France and KLM passengers and will come online for Flybe customers later this month.

Christine Ourmieres, general manager of Air FranceKLM for the UK and Ireland, said: 'Air FranceKLM is committed to providing passengers with the best possible customer experience, from a swift and accessible service at the airport through to an enjoyable, safe flight and arrival.

'Air FranceKLM is delighted to be one of the first airlines to work with BAA on the new self-service check-in system at Edinburgh airport.'

David Lister, the airport's customer service director, said the self-service facilities will allow the gateway to improve its capacity at a time of growth, with 27 new routes having been launched from Edinburgh this year alone.
