American Airlines serves up Caribbean flavours

18 Sep 2008

American Airlines has announced that a range of local foods will be made available to its first and business class customers on Caribbean flights.

The airline worked with chef Cindy Hutson of popular Florida restaurant Ortanique on the Mile to create the menus.

Ms Hutson has developed a number of different flavours and combinations on the new menus, incorporating fish, vegetables, fruit and traditional tropical seasonings.

Lauri Curtis, American Airlines' vice president of onboard service, said: 'We are excited to offer our premium class customers refreshed menu options created in collaboration with Cindy Hutson, as these new additions fulfill the commitment of American Airlines to enhance the travel experience for our customers.'

From this week, first and business class passengers flying from the Caribbean will be able to sample menus that will be rotated on a monthly basis.

The options on offer will include east Indian chicken, jerk pork tenderloin, guava barbecue salmon and east Indian pork.

American Airlines offers scheduled services from Caribbean destinations including Aruba, Barbados, Port of Spain, the Dominican Republic and others.
