Informative ski talks scheduled across UK

Brits looking forward to skiing holidays this winter will be able to do some pre-travel research at a number of informative talks to be held across the UK in October and November.
The talks, which have been arranged by the Ski Club of Great Britain, will be held at branches of the sport retail chain Snow+Rock.
Held under the title 'prepare for snow', the discussions will cover issues ranging from physical fitness to safety and avalanche awareness.
Ski instructor Warren Smith will talk about fitness and some of the physiological aspects of skiing at the first two talks in Manchester on 28 October and London on the following day.
The Henry's Avalanche Talk group will then look at topics relating to safety at events in Port Solent (6 November), London (11 November) and Bristol (12 November).
Many skiers and snowboarders will soon be arranging their trips to France, Austria, Switzerland and also less mainstream destinations such as Bulgaria and Poland in preparation for the winter season.
