Nominees announced for 2008 Visit London Awards

The lists of nominees have been announced for the 2008 Visit London Awards, offering tourists a guide to the top attractions and experiences on offer in the English capital.
In the 'best tourism experience' category, the nominees include the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, Wembley stadium tours, the Royal Observatory Greenwich, Vinopolis and London Duck tours.
The Science Museum, National Maritime Museum and London Transport Museum are among the nominees for visitor attraction of the year, along with the London Dungeon, the Wellcome Collection and the London Eye.
London's Freewheel event is shortlisted for the sports tourism award, as is the Flora London Marathon, the O2 and the Wembley stadium tour.
Other categories include business venue of the year, with the Barbican and ExCel London among the nominees, and awards for sustainable tourism and accessibility.
Visit London chief executive James Bidwell said: 'The Visit London Awards celebrate our capital's tourism offer and recognise and reward outstanding achievement.
'I congratulate the finalists and wish them the best of luck on awards night.'
The accolades will be handed out at a ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall on 27 November.
