Macy's parade to entertain New York once again

25 Sep 2008

Holidaymakers in New York at the end of November will not fail to notice the buzz of excitement emerging in the city ahead of the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

This event takes place every year on the fourth Thursday in November, which this year falls on the 27th.

The 82nd annual parade will start at 77th Street and Central Park west, progressing towards Columbus Circle before heading onto Broadway and turning west on 34th Street, eventually finishing at 7th Avenue.

Good viewing locations include the west side of the street at Columbus Circle and between 38th and 58th streets on Broadway.

The Macy's parade is famous for the amazing array of giant balloons, floats, performance groups, bands and other spectacles that bring delight to children and adults alike every year.

Highlights of this year's procession will include giant inflatable versions of Shrek and Kermit the Frog, the band Good Charlotte and floats themed around the Statue of Liberty, Santa Claus and Snoopy.
